  • Visitors are screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 prior to resident access and visitation will be refused if the individual(s) exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms or do not pass the screening questions. IF YOU DON’T FEEL WELL, DON’T VISIT.
  • EFFECTIVE JANUARY 12, 2022, Update 10/13/22 ( continues) -ALL VISITORS MUST PRESENT A NEGATIVE SARS COV 2 TEST RESULT ONE DAY PRIOR TO VISITATION FOR RAPID TESTS AND 2 DAYS PRIOR TO VISITATION FOR PCR TESTS. YOU MAY USE EITHER ONE TO GAIN ACCESS FOR VISITATION. IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE, YOU WILL BE DENIED ACCESS. IF YOU VISIT EVERYDAY, PROOF OF NEGATIVE TESTING IS REQUIRED AT A MINIMUM OF EVERY 3Ro DAY. NEW EAST SIDE HAS A SUPPLY OF RAPID TESTS, HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT TO BE RELIED UPON FOR SUPPLYING THESE TESTS AS SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES MAY AFFECT OUR ABILITY TO OBTAIN THEM. WE WERE PROVIDED WITH TEST KITS FROM THE NYS DEPT OF HEALTH AND AS THAT SUPPLY DEMINISHES, WE SHALL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE, THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES WITH THE VISITOR.
  • Screening shall consist of both temperature checks and asking screening questions to assess potential exposure to COVID-19 which shall include questions regarding international travel or travel to other states designated under the Commissioner’s traveĀ·I advisory.
  • Documentation must include the following for each visitor to the nursing home: first and last name of the visitor; physical (street) address of the visitor; daytime and evening telephone number; date and time of visit; and email address, if available.
  • Visitors are permitted to only go directly to the patient’s room they are visiting, they are NOT PERMITTED to walk around the facility and must leave directly from the room to the elevator and utilize the MAIN entrance to leave.
  • Suggested visiting hours are from 11am to 8pm. For visits outside of these times, please see Social Services for assistance.
  • Outdoor visitations may continue however, weather considerations or an individual resident health status may hinder outdoor visitation. When visiting outdoors, all appropriate infection control and prevention practices must be followed – mask, 6 feet physical distancing, hand hygiene.
  • Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.
  • Visitors must wear a face mask or face covering which covers both the nose and mouth at all times when on the premises of the facility, remain 6 feet apart, perform hand hygiene prior to and after visitation.
  • Visitors must maintain social distancing.
  • Facility will provide alcohol-based hand rub, consisting of at least 60 percent (60%) alcohol, to residents, visitors and representatives of the long-term care ombudsman prior to visiting the residents. Rub hands together using friction. Available throughout the facility on all units, elevator, Main entrance.
  • Visitations are allowed at all times during suggested visitation hours 11am to 8pm.
  • If any visitor fails to adhere to infection control protocols, he/she/ they may be asked to leave.
